WEBSITE PRIVACY POLICY
infantfeedingindex.com
Effective date: 23rd June 2026 Last updated: 23rd June 2026
Welcome
This Privacy Policy explains how the Trustee for 4 Good Unit Trust (ABN 85 145 868 031) trading as The Thompson Method ("we", "us", "our") handles personal information collected through the Infant Feeding Index website at infantfeedingindex.com, including the landing page, the thank-you page, and the email list you can subscribe to from there.
We can be reached at privacy@infantfeedingindex.com, or by post at PO Box 13, Rainbow Beach QLD 4581, Australia.
It should be read together with our Terms of Use.
The Infant Feeding Index survey itself runs on a separate site (survey.infantfeedingindex.com) and is governed by its own Survey Privacy Policy and Survey Terms of Participation. That site is fully anonymous; this site is not. The two are deliberately kept apart, as explained below.
In short: When you visit infantfeedingindex.com, we use standard website cookies and marketing pixels (Meta Pixel, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, LinkedIn Insight Tag) to help us reach more mothers — subject to your cookie banner choice. If you choose to give us your email on the thank-you page, you're subscribing to receive Index findings, reports and information about The Thompson Method's related programs (including My Milk Map). Your email is stored in a system entirely disconnected from any survey responses you may have submitted — there is no join key, no shared timestamp, and no technical pathway between the two. We cannot match your subscription to any survey you may have completed, and neither can anyone else. We never sell or share subscriber data with pharmaceutical companies or infant formula manufacturers, and we never use subscriber data to train AI models.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers:
visits to the landing page at infantfeedingindex.com;
visits to the thank-you page after submitting the Index survey;
the optional email subscription offered on the thank-you page (and any future sign-up forms on the same domain);
emails we send you about the Index and The Thompson Method.
It does not cover:
the Infant Feeding Index survey itself at survey.infantfeedingindex.com that site has its own Survey Privacy Policy;
the other services run by The Thompson Method (such as My Milk Map and Go Slow Baby), each of which has its own privacy policy.
2. The architectural firewall between your subscription and your survey
Before anything else, it's worth saying this plainly: the email you give us on the thank-you page is stored in a system entirely disconnected from any survey responses you may have just submitted.
The survey runs anonymously on a separate site. We don't collect your name, email, or IP address during the survey. When you arrive on the thank-you page on this site and choose to give us your email, that email goes into our email/marketing system. There is no shared identifier, no shared timestamp linkage, and no technical pathway between the two. Even if you give us your email immediately after submitting, we cannot tell which set of survey responses came from you and we have built it that way on purpose.
This is the trust spine of how the Index is designed. Everything below operates on top of it.
3. What we collect
Visiting the landing page and the thank-you page
When you visit any page on infantfeedingindex.com, our website may collect:
Essential cookies - to make the site work and protect against fraud and abuse. These are always on.
Analytics cookies - to understand how visitors use the site. We use Google Analytics 4.
Marketing pixels and tag management - to help us reach more mothers and (where permitted) retarget visitors. We use or are in the process of deploying Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion tag, Google Tag Manager (which loads and orchestrates the other tags on the site), and LinkedIn Insight Tag. We update this list when we add or remove tools.
Device and browser data - device type, operating system, browser version, approximate region derived from IP, referrer.
Your control. A cookie banner asks for your consent before any non-essential cookies or marketing pixels load. You can update your preferences at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the website footer. For visitors in the EEA, UK and other jurisdictions whose local law requires opt-in consent before non-essential cookies fire, the banner enforces this by default.
Subscribing on the thank-you page (or anywhere else on this site)
If you opt in to receive updates, we collect:
your email address;
the country and state you may choose to share (asked again on the form — we do not carry this over from any survey you may have completed);
your communication preferences and unsubscribe history;
email engagement signals (such as whether you opened a message or clicked a link), used to improve the relevance of what we send.
By subscribing, you're agreeing to receive Index findings and reports, and information about The Thompson Method's related programs (including My Milk Map). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
4. Why we collect it, and our legal bases
For visitors and subscribers in the EEA, UK and other jurisdictions with comparable laws, the legal bases we rely on are:
| Stage | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Visiting the site | Essential website operation, fraud and abuse prevention | Legitimate interests |
| Visiting the site | Analytics and marketing pixels | Consent (via cookie banner) |
| Subscribing | Sending Index findings, Thompson Method updates, and related marketing | Consent (you can withdraw any time) |
| Subscribing | Customer support, security, abuse and fraud prevention | Legitimate interests |
| Across stages | Record-keeping required by law | Legal obligation |
5. Who we share data with and who we will never share with
Service providers we rely on
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services (AWS) - United States (US East 1, Virginia) | Cloud infrastructure for related services |
| Google (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager) - United States | Site analytics, ad measurement, tag orchestration |
| Meta (Facebook / Instagram Ads, Meta Pixel) - United States | Ad delivery and measurement |
| LinkedIn (LinkedIn Ads, LinkedIn Insight Tag) - United States | Ad delivery and measurement |
| Kajabi (United States) - current | Email delivery and subscriber management |
| GoHighLevel (United States) - planned | Email delivery, marketing automations, preference management |
Note on the email provider transition. Subscribers are currently managed in Kajabi, alongside our existing Thompson Method list. We are in the process of transitioning to GoHighLevel and may use either or both during the transition period. In practical terms, this means that emails sent to you about the Index will come from The Thompson Method while we operate from our existing list infrastructure, and may be sent from infantfeedingindex.com once the transition completes. Both providers are United States-based and bound by appropriate contractual safeguards.
Each provider handles your data only on our written instructions and is contractually required to apply appropriate safeguards.
What we share with marketing partners
We use the marketing pixels above to measure ad performance and, where permitted, to retarget visitors. We do not share subscriber email addresses with advertising platforms. If we ever decide to use email addresses for custom-audience marketing (for example, uploading hashed emails to Meta for lookalike modelling), we will update this policy and seek your separate consent before doing so.
Who we will never share with
Pharmaceutical companies, infant formula manufacturers, or any commercial entity whose products or interests could conflict with the wellbeing of mothers and infants. We will not sell, license or share subscriber data with these recipients.
Data brokers - never.
AI model trainers (ours or third parties). Subscriber data will never be used to train AI models.
Other limited disclosures
We may disclose information where we are required to by law, in response to a valid legal process, or in connection with a business restructure or sale - in which case this policy continues to apply.
6. How long we keep things
Website visitor data: standard web analytics and pixel data is retained per the providers' defaults (typically 13–26 months) and per your cookie preferences. You can clear cookies at any time via your browser; we have no way to identify you separately.
Subscriber data: held while you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal suppression record (so we don't accidentally email you again) and otherwise delete the record within 30 days. You can ask us to delete your record entirely at any time.
Records we are legally required to keep: retained for the period the law requires.
7. Where data is stored, and international transfers
We operate from Australia. The systems involved in running this site and managing the subscriber list are hosted in the United States (AWS US East 1 in Virginia for related infrastructure; Kajabi and GoHighLevel are also United States-based). When your data crosses national borders, we apply appropriate safeguards:
EEA / UK visitors and subscribers: we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (or the UK equivalent) and conduct transfer impact assessments where required.
Canadian visitors and subscribers: transfers are governed by our contracts with service providers consistent with PIPEDA.
US visitors and subscribers: we apply contractual and technical safeguards equivalent to those above. If you reside in Washington or Nevada, you may have additional rights under state consumer health data laws.
Australian visitors and subscribers: transfers are made consistent with Australian Privacy Principle 8.
You can contact us at privacy@infantfeedingindex.com for further detail on the safeguards that apply to your situation.
8. Your rights
Your rights depend on which way you've interacted with this site.
As a website visitor:
Manage cookies and tracker preferences via the cookie banner and "Cookie settings" link.
Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information where your local law allows (we do not sell personal information in the conventional sense, but if you reside in California or another state with applicable rules, the opt-out is available).
As a subscriber:
You can at any time:
access the email record we hold about you;
correct information that is inaccurate;
unsubscribe via any email or by contacting us;
delete the record;
object to processing or port the data (EEA / UK).
To exercise any right, email privacy@infantfeedingindex.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify that you control the email address on the record before acting.
If you submitted the Index survey, please note that the survey is entirely separate. Updating or deleting your subscriber record has no effect on any survey responses, because the two are not connected (see Section 2). Your rights regarding the survey are described in the Survey Privacy Policy.
9. Children
This site and the email list are for adults only. You must be at least 18 to subscribe. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through this site. If you become aware of someone under 18 having subscribed, please contact us at privacy@infantfeedingindex.com and we will remove their record.
10. AI and automated decision-making
We do not use subscriber data to:
make automated decisions about you;
profile you as an individual in a way that produces legal or similarly significant effects;
train any third-party AI model.
Standard email-marketing personalisation (such as sending different content based on your country or preferences) is not the same as automated decision-making, and is used only to make the emails we send more relevant.
11. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures to protect subscriber and visitor data, including:
encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest;
architectural separation between this site's systems and the Infant Feeding Index survey system — they share no identifiers, no join keys, no timestamp linkages;
access controls based on least privilege;
logging and monitoring of administrative access;
vulnerability scanning and security testing on a regular cycle;
staff confidentiality obligations.
No system is perfectly secure. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, and other supervisory authorities where required by law.
To report a suspected security issue, email security@infantfeedingindex.com.
12. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at privacy@infantfeedingindex.com. We will acknowledge within 7 days and aim to resolve within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to your local privacy regulator:
Australia: Office of the Australian Information Commissioner - www.oaic.gov.au
United Kingdom: Information Commissioner's Office - ico.org.uk
European Economic Area: your country's data protection authority (list at edpb.europa.eu)
Canada: Office of the Privacy Commissioner - priv.gc.ca
United States: your state attorney general's office; for Washington residents, see also the Washington AG.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We review it at least once a year. If we make material changes — particularly changes that affect how subscriber data is shared or what the email list is used for — we will publish the updated version on this page and notify subscribers by email. We will not retrospectively broaden how data already collected is used in a way that goes beyond your original consent without seeking your renewed consent first.
The current version is always available at this page; previous versions are available on request.
